And now the good news
I’m pleased that, over the last several weeks, Little Miss has become a far more adventurous eater. I like to think I have something to do with this, and it isn’t just the random whim of the universe.
She eats a wider selection of proteins and vegetables, and is more likely to try something when it’s offered, even if it’s green. The day after I gave her a hard boiled egg for her supper, she actually requested an egg for her lunch. Not only that, but she ate the yolk first!
Her favourite thing is being fed by us, ideally if we have chopsticks. The other night, her Daddy cooked a quick stirfry of mince, peas and corn which we had over rice, and Little Miss kept abandoning her bowl to sniff around mine. She dug her little spoon in happily and fed herself, occasionally looking at my chopsticks and opening her mouth like a baby bird.
When I wasn’t paying attention, she swapped her spoon for my fork. She wailed when I took it off her, then went off in a huff and located a fork of her own - a plastic one, which she wielded with exceptional smugness.
She’d eaten half my dinner, mostly the peas and corn which she now names with great glee, so I had to get seconds. She ate half of that too!
