The Carnival is Coming, the Carnival is Coming!

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

The deadline for submissions to the carnival has passed. There were lots of great entries, so keep your eyes open for the big post, happening on June 4.

And Your Favorites Are…?

Friday, May 18th, 2007

I know, this is a food site. That said, there are some things that are inextricably linked to food - like summer fun and family. That’s right, I’m talking about hot summer days spent outside… at the ballpark!

Our carnival is coming up soon and the theme is “Take Me Out to the Ballpark.” And ballparks aren’t limited to baseball - I have already received an entry about cricket!

I thought it would be fun in advance of the carnival to find out your favorite teams… So submit your favorite baseball (or cricket!) teams below in the comments. I’ll add up the favorites and post them on the day of the carnival.

Play ball!

Don’t Forget About the Carnival!

Friday, May 18th, 2007

I’ve received some great entries for the carnival! Join the fun! The theme this month is “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” and the focus is on outdoor fun, food and family… And yeah, it’s finally worth it for me since the Phillies cracked .500!

Take me out to the ballgame!

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

Okay, it’s the first ever kids and food-palooza…

These are the details. The deadline for submission is Monday, May 28. The theme is “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”. Submit your family and ballpark food-related recipes, blog posts, photos and articles for consideration in the carnival. That’s right - I’m talking hot dogs, hamburgers, sandwiches, funnel cakes, pretzels, french fries, water ice, the kids of food that you would eat at a ballpark with your kids (um, sorry, had to wipe a little drool off of my chin). It’s all about food, family and summer fun!

It’s a Carnival!

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

A blog carnival, that is.

Yeah, I know. It was a little confusing to me, too, until I found my way around a couple of them that were awesome. I couldn’t find any that focused just on kids and food, though, so I thought perhaps I would give it a whirl.

Blog carnivals have been around for a while on the internet. The idea is that the blog carnival is a collection of links and articles from lots of different blogs to posts on a certain theme. That way, we can all share our ideas.

Our theme at Kids and food-palooza is exactly like it sounds: kids and food. Your ideas can be really simple or really fancy. It’s up to you. Just submit an entry (the URL for your blog post) to the carnival host of the month focusing on the specific topic which will be posted in advance. Deadlines are always at midnight on the last Monday of each month, EST. The easiest way to enter is to use the form at blogcarnival.com.

If you have any questions, let me know. And spread the word! The more, the merrier!

About Kids Dish

If you flip through the pages of a number of kids’ magazines, you get the impression that kids’ meals should be Michelin affairs, complete with matching dishware and veggies cut to resemble the works of impressionist painters.

Let’s be real. Parents don’t have that kind of time. And kids have to eat. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Kids' dish focuses on healthy, practical meal solutions for kids… and occasionally, that might mean matching dishware.
